NZ RUC
Sales Data

RUC Sales records the value of road user charges sold in New Zealand dollars. Monthly and annual reports show how that total changes over the available periods, alongside Kilometres Sold and Licences Sold.

Kilometres Sold measures the distance covered by RUC sales. Licences Sold counts licences, not individual vehicles. Distance bought in one month may be used later, so sales data does not measure kilometres driven that month.

Keep the measure and filters consistent across periods. A partial year should be compared with the same months of the earlier year. Refunds, revisions, RUC rates and the timing of purchases can affect the figures.

Regional sales are grouped by the registered owner's address. They show where owners are based, rather than where vehicles travelled. You can compare each region's sales over time or narrow the selection by vehicle category.
